How To Make Your Own Sports Drink

My good friend, Julie Hansen, MS RD, a triathlete and Registered Dietitian, came up with this recipe and I love it. I have made this drink for numerous sports teams and have always gotten high ratings on the taste. It contains everything you need in a sports drink and is simple, cheap, and effective.



Homemade Sports Drink:


5% Carbohydrate:       

                                                       

 4 Tbs. sugar 


4 cups water


1/8 tsp. salt


2 Tbls. lemon juice

 

6.5% Carbohydrate:


5 Tbs. sugar


4 cups water


1/8 tsp. salt


2 Tbls. lemon juice
